Silvia Rastelli’s art: a figurative and verist art, where both figurative and verism are present in a special way. In the artist’s work the viewer can glimpse the attention for the image evolution like silt, like a sediment of vital energy. The various elements of each composition come to be woven together in a pattern where they correspond in combination of shape and colour. Silvia’s drawing is impeccable: the artist uses colour in order to articulate shapes, to release the intensity that is found both in the figures and in the musicality of the portraits. You can perceive the creative joy of the artist, that knows how to unveil poetry and then proposes it in an original way: like the vibration of an accent, always intelligible. Hence, the value that distinguishes her character from the common mass is born. A crystal clear accomplishment made to show an inner meaning, made to humanize dimensions, to eradicate the concept of time. The artist’s work depicts the reality of her personal world, where you can enter only by abandoning yourself to a kind of joy that leads to extasy. There is a total adherence to the themes delth with in order to absorbe sensations and vibrations of her painted world that expands, in its intimate self. Silvia Rastelli joins herself to her own creation, placing in it her ability to translate a dimension only apparently real. Painting turns into life choice to become art. Silvia’s work is a growing artistic path, a deep research that is never futile, never leaning to a sterile search for novelty; it is an intimate and profound need to offer to her public a dynamic art: felt and lived. Looking over her overall career we can perceive that the artist is distant from preconceived currents: she is neither similar to others, nor to herself. Emotions are the core of Silvia Rastelli’s art: the result is not an object to admire or to look at from a distance; in her poetics art must polarize the viewers in the very moment, when all their senses are involved until they merge in that expressive vortex that, in its ideal intent, has to transfuse from the artist to the visitor through her works and tales. She translates, in a conscious thought, her sense of painting and portraying that becomes an everyday, perpetual act. Thus her portrait becomes an absolute: a representation, not in the meaning of mimesis of a figure, but in the much stronger and active sense of creation.
